The HESI A2 (Admission Assessment) is a nursing school entrance exam from Elsevier. Schools choose which sections you take, from reading, vocabulary, grammar, math, anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry and physics. Confirm your school's required sections and score before you study.
Because programs choose the sections, two students taking the HESI A2 can sit very different exams. Ask your admissions office for the list of sections and the minimum score. Then spend your time only on those subjects.
Math is arithmetic used in healthcare: fractions, decimals, ratios, conversions such as household to metric, and simple dosage-style problems. Vocabulary covers general and healthcare terms. Learn word roots like hyper-, -itis and brady-, because they unlock many unfamiliar words.
For anatomy and physiology, learn structure and function together. Biology and chemistry questions are introductory: cells, macromolecules, the pH scale and balancing simple equations.
